Immigration Law

Immigration

If your immigration papers are not handled correctly, you or your loved ones could be denied entry to the U.S., or deported. Having an attorney with the legal know-how to handle your immigration problems can prevent situations such as deportation.

Employment-Based Immigration Law

If you want to work in the U.S., our firm can help you make sure you have the proper documentation. We offer a wide range of employment-based immigration services, including:
  • Non-immigrant Work Visas — A non-immigrant is a person who does not intend to stay in the U.S. We can assist you with getting a temporary work visa, such as a business visa, temporary worker and trainee visas (L visas, H visas, O, P or R visas), or treaty trader or investor visas (E-1 and E-2). We will work with you to determine which visa best fits your situation.
  • Employment-Based Immigration by Green Card — In order to live and work permanently in the U.S., an immigrant needs to obtain a green card. We will complete the paperwork and file on your behalf with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Work Permits — A work permit, also known as an Employment Authorization Document, gives you permission to work in the United States when you have a non-work visa, such as a student or marriage visa. We can get you on your way to employment by completing the legal paperwork.
  • If you are a green card holder (legal permanent resident or a conditional permanent resident), you do not need an Employment Authorization Document/U.S. Work Permit. Your Permanent Resident Card (“Green Card”) proves that you can work in the United States.
  • If you are authorized to work for a specific employer, you do not need an Employment Authorization Document/U.S. Work Permit. Your passport and your I-94 Form (Arrival-Departure Record, Form I-94 Card) prove that you can work in the United States.

Family-Based Immigration Law

Bringing a foreign family member into the United States is a long and difficult process. There are a limited number of K visas and green cards issued each year to family members. Our firm can help you with the paperwork and filing so that you and your family can live together in the U.S. We can help you determine if a family member is eligible to immigrate to the U.S. Our attorney can also help you, as a sponsor, complete and file the necessary I-130 petition.

Immigration Assistance for Employers

If the proper paperwork isn’t filed, a potential employee could be denied entry to the U.S. or be put on a long waiting list. We can help you with business visas, temporary worker and trainee visas (L visas, H visas, O, P or R visas). We can also help your temporary employees become permanent residents through adjustment of status.
It is also important that you maintain proper records, such as I-9 forms, concerning your employees and their status. Our firm can make sure that your records are in compliance with federal law, counsel you on proper record-keeping procedures, and assist you with completing and filing paperwork.
